The large workshop of Collaborative Research Centre 805 was held in Grasellenbach on 20 and 21 December, six months earlier than usually. All CRC members and two new applicants, the Institute of Ergonomics and Stochastics worked out the final finishing for the next application in May. Until then, the follow-up application for the second funding period must be submitted to the German Research Foundation. In addition to the presentation of previous research dealing with the control of uncertainty, the outlook on the future four-year activity of the individual subprojects was in the center of the work, in particular. Working in groups, current and future networks of the research fields were worked on and compressed. Thus, many new starting points and issues arose, always in focus of uncertainty control in load-carrying systems.

The meeting of CRC members was this time also used to hold the general annual meeting. Prof. Holger Hanselka was acknowledged as speaker of SFB in his post, as well as his representative Prof. Peter Groche. The first successfully performed international ICUME conference in Darmstadt laid a foundation stone, making the issue of uncertainty known furthermore, told Professor Hanselka. “The SFB 805 has achieved much so far and I am looking positively into the future”, Professor Hanselka praised the work done up to know.
