Short Course at Clemson University

Within the SFB 805, Dr. Roland Platz (leader subprojects C2 and C5) offered a short course in the beginning of October 2016 for „Controlling Uncertainty via Smart Structures Technology“ at Clemson University (SC, USA).

Subjects were fundamentals and results from the SFB-research in the realm of active and semi-active stability and vibration control technology in load bearing structures as well as methods for uncertainty quantification. 15 to 20 undergraduate and graduate students as well as faculty members from civil and mechanical engineering at Clemson University participated. The short course is part of an international collaboration with Dr. Sez Atamturktur, distinguished professor of intelligent infrastructure, that focuses on uncertainty quantification in structural dynamics.
